Stud History

A chance trip to the Corowa sheep sale nearly 40 years ago resulted in the purchase of ewes that were dispersed from the Rutherglen Research Station.  Then on the way home, a stop in at Noel Wilson’s “Kismet Stud” for an older stud sire.

The dispersal of a complete stud from King Island "WILANGI" was the beginning in earnest of Belvedere Poll Dorsets.  Founded in 1982, Flock number 3395.

The subsequent sires were from Valma, Kurralea, Killara and Gloroy and more recently purchases from Derrynock.

Janet Morant has been the passionate driver of the stud for the last 40 years. Since her daughter Anita has returned home they now run the stud together.
